Minister:
|
Christian, what is your
only comfort in life and in death?
|
|
People:
|
That I, with body and
soul, both in life and in death, am not my own, but belong to my
faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who with His precious blood has
fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of
the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my heavenly Father
not a hair can fall from my head; yes, that all things must be
subservient to my salvation, and therefore, by His Holy Spirit,
He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me sincerely willing and
ready henceforth, to live unto him.
|
Unison: Thanks be to God!

Glory

Confession of Sin
|
O Holy Father we know
your will is the way of love for you so loved the world that you sent
your only begotten Son. We are created and redeemed to love you and all
men. Your law is the law of love. Sadly we have been satisfied with
lesser love and narrower affections than we ought. Often we have
ignored you. Often we have loved only our friends when our enemies need
us. Forgive us for not greeting one another in love for withholding the
kind deed for letting loose the word of anger for harboring resentment
and for plotting revenge. Grant us never to lose sight of the exceeding
sinfulness of sin the exceeding righteousness of salvation the
exceeding glory of Christ the exceeding beauty of holiness and the
exceeding wonder of grace. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

“If my people who are
called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn
from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and will forgive
their sin and heal their land.”
